Mr. Richard Prasher retired from his post as Depute Headteacher in June 2008 after 17 years at Ardrossan Academy.

His teaching career started at Garnock Academy, where he spent 2 years before moving to the post of Assistant Principal Teacher at Marr College. He returned to Garnock Academy 2 years later as Principal Teacher of Physics.

In 1989 he became Staff Tutor for Science, advising on curriculum development and staff training. He later stood in for the Science Adviser for Ayr Division.

In April 1991 he arrived at Ardrossan Academy as Assistant Headteacher, becoming Depute Headteacher in 1996.

He hopes to spend his retirement in his garden, walking and entertaining his grandchildren.
